The Emerald Coast has a pull, a draw, an undeniable attraction for many, and for me it is no different. I first came down here on vacation during college and always loved my time here.
After graduating from Auburn University in 2004, I headed home to Lake Forest, Illinois, a little town north of Chicago. The winters can be quite cruel and cold and dreary. I had to get away. I had to find a place to warm my chilled bones. And one lucky day the Emerald Coast came calling.
I found a job posting online for a reporter at the Walton Sun in Santa Rosa Beach (I have a degree in Journalism). So I called the editor and when she hired me, I packed my Jeep, aimed it south and headed for warm waters, sugary sands and ample Florida sunshine.
I made South Walton my home in 2005 and have never looked back. The magnificent beauty and laid back lifestyle permeated my soul and infused into my DNA - I had found home.
Christina and I met along Scenic Highway 30A in 2006. We were married in July 2008 and I became a Realtor in 2009, and I've been working with buyers and sellers at Destin Real Estate Company since. In 2012, I passed the Broker State Exam and am a licensed Broker Associate. Christina and I work together and are excited to list property and help buyers find that piece of paradise that is just right for them along this incredible stretch of beach.
In 2011, Christina and I sold $25.5 million (nearly 50 properties) in real estate along the Emerald Coast, with another $17.4 million sold in 2010. And in 2009, we sold more than $19 million.
